The Canadian development squad taking part in the West Indies Super 50 tournament lost their opening match to the Leeward Islands by 70 runs. The Leewards batting first were bowled out for 257, Harsh Thaker leading the bowling with 3/24. In reply, Canada made 187, captain Tathgur top-scoring with 48.
