The red army played its second match of the Super Cup against Windwards Islands on Friday. Winwards won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 337 runs riding on Devon Smith’s century and Kavem Hodge’s half century. Canada started in a brilliant fashion as openers hit the bowlers all over the park but were not able to chase the target in the end.
Pacer Romesh Eranga is in top from as he ran amongst the opposition batting line-up. He scalped three wickets in eight overs. Leggie Nikhil Dutta continued his great form as he took 2 wickets and a catch. The Canadian bowlers were ruthless as they took the last seven wickets in matter of 40 runs.
Chasing 338 runs, openers seemed flawless. They had a partnership of 105 runs. Navnit Singh Dhaliwal scored 80 runs in 81 deliveries with 10 fours and a six. His partner Rodrigo Tomas supported him very well by scoring 55 runs in 60 balls. Just when it seemed that Canada were cruising along, wickets fell in quick succession.
This match again proved the mettle of players in the Red Army. Their shot selection showed their talent and skills which is improving in every match.
