CricketFest is the signature event organised by Cricket Canada to promote the game of Cricket. People can come to watch the games for free and enjoy the match along with some delicious food. Rightly termed as a Cricket Festival, it brought people together from different walks of life and take the opportunity to have fun with some high-level cricket.
The matches were played in 20-20 and One-day format. There were four participating teams. The tournament was broadcasted on national television channel CBC.
West Indies B team beat Canada in the final. The tournament was played from 27th August to 7th September 2018. This Festival is usually held on natural Turf Wickets. CricketFest gave chance to players from the development program teams to play with the national cricketers who are representing the country.
Canadian national team had the players who are currently playing at the highest level of Cricket. While the Canada A team consisted players who are currently in the development programs and being trained for the national team. Players who are originally from Caribbean island but are current residents on Toronto formed the Toronto Bears team. Windies Cricket had sent their B team which was coached by Sir Curtly Ambrose.
