Ahead of upcoming media coverage, Cricket Canada is aware of the The Fifth Estate episode scheduled to air this month.
We recognize that the program may raise questions for members, partners, and the broader cricket community. Recent promotional material alludes to allegations related to organized crime and match-fixing — issues that Cricket Canada takes extremely seriously. The integrity of the sport is fundamental, and any concern that could compromise fair competition is treated with the utmost importance.
While we have not yet had the opportunity to review the full program, we will assess its contents carefully once it is released. Where matters are raised, we are committed to reviewing them responsibly and taking appropriate steps as needed.
Cricket Canada has recently undergone leadership changes at the executive level, including the election of a new President and Secretary earlier this month. The organization is focused on strengthening governance and continuing to build for the future of the sport in this country. This work is grounded in a clear commitment to integrity, transparency, and open communication.
Cricket Canada is also undertaking a review of its integrity-related processes to ensure they meet the standards expected of a national sporting body. This includes assessing existing safeguards and identifying areas for continued improvement. Any specific matters raised will be evaluated fully, with further action taken as appropriate.
Cricket in Canada continues to build momentum, with growing investment in the national program and national teams, rising participation across communities, and increasing expectations around the development of Canadian talent.
Our priority is to strengthen governance, reinforce trust with stakeholders, and support the continued growth of cricket across Canada.
We will continue to keep our community informed and welcome ongoing dialogue as we move forward.
