Canadian Women’s National Cricket Team to Tour Africa

Toronto, ON – September 15, 2025 – Cricket Canada is proud to announce that the Canadian

Women’s National Cricket Team will embark on a historic international tour of Africa this fall,

featuring T20 International series in Uganda and Tanzania from October 18 to November 5,

2025.

The tour will begin in Uganda, where the team will play a five-match T20I series from October

18 to 27, followed by another five-match T20I series in Tanzania from October 27 to

November 5.

This tour represents a major milestone in the advancement of women’s cricket in Canada. As

participation continues to grow across the country, international tours like this provide a critical

platform for elite athletes to compete, develop, and gain global exposure.

“This is a proud moment for Canadian cricket,” said Amjad Bajwa, President of Cricket

Canada. “The women’s national team touring Africa demonstrates our commitment to fostering

international opportunities and elevating the standard of competition for our players. We are

excited to see the team represent Canada on the global stage.”

Habeeba Bader, Director of Women’s Cricket at Cricket Canada, emphasized the importance of

the tour for player development and the future of the women’s game:

“This tour is a key step in building a stronger foundation for women’s cricket in Canada,” she

said. “Our players have been working hard at the domestic level, and this is their chance to

showcase that talent internationally. It’s also an inspiration to young girls across the country

who are watching and dreaming of wearing the maple leaf one day.”
