Cricket Canada Announces Termination of Agreement with Bombay Sports Due to Breach of Contract
Cricket Canada today announced that it has terminated its agreement with Bombay Sports, effective December 23, 2024 due to a breach of contract. Despite multiple notifications and opportunities to rectify the defaults outlined in previous correspondence, Bombay Sports has failed to bring its performance in line with the terms set forth in the agreement.
The decision to terminate the contract was not made lightly. Cricket Canada had previously issued a final notice on October 29, 2024, urging Bombay Sports to address the specific defaults and comply with the terms of the agreement. However, these issues were not resolved within the stipulated timeframe, leading to the inevitable conclusion that the agreement could no longer be sustained.
“We take our contractual obligations seriously and expect our partners to do the same,” said Amjad Bajwa President of Cricket Canada “While we regret that it has come to this, it is crucial that all parties involved honor their commitments in order to maintain a professional and productive working relationship. Unfortunately, Bombay Sports has not met the required standards, and we had no choice but to terminate the agreement.”
Cricket Canada remains committed to fulfilling its obligations and ensuring a smooth transition. All necessary steps will be taken to minimize any disruption caused by this decision. Cricket Canada will continue to pursue its goals and maintain strong relationships with its other partners and stakeholders.
