Reports to: Cricket Canada Board of Directors through the President

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $120,000 CAD per annum. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

Lead the Next Chapter of Cricket in Canada

Cricket Canada is seeking an accomplished, principled, and forward-looking Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization through a pivotal period of transformation.

As Canada’s national governing body for cricket, Cricket Canada is responsible for advancing the sport from grassroots participation to international high performance. The CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership while strengthening governance, restoring institutional confidence, and building
a modern, sustainable, athlete-centered national sport organization.

Reporting to the Board of Directors through the President, the CEO will translate Board-approved strategy into measurable action and lead relationships with the International Cricket Council, Sport Canada, the Canadian Olympic Committee, provincial and territorial cricket organizations, athletes, commercial partners, governments, and the wider Canadian cricket community.

Strategic Priorities

Immediate priorities

• Lead Cricket Canada’s work toward full reinstatement with the International Cricket Council.

• Advance compliance with Sport Canada funding, governance, Safe Sport, financial, and accountability requirements.

• Stabilize national operations and establish clear roles, controls, reporting systems, and performance measures.

• Strengthen trust and communication with athletes, employees, provincial and territorial members, and institutional partners.

• Ensure responsible financial management and continuity of national-team and development programs.

Medium-term priorities

• Build a capable, inclusive, and accountable national office.

• Strengthen men’s, women’s, youth, and emerging-player pathways.

• Modernize national competitions, coaching, officiating, talent identification, and athlete-support systems.

• Deepen relationships with the federal government, the Canadian Olympic Committee, provincial and municipal governments, and the Canadian sport system.

• Diversify revenue and develop sustainable commercial and institutional partnerships.

• Improve national alignment among Cricket Canada and its provincial and territorial members.

Long-term priorities

• Position Canada as a leading and consistently competitive ICC Associate Member.

• Establish a sustainable national pathway connecting community, school, university, provincial, and high-performance cricket.

• Expand participation and access across Canada, with particular attention to women and girls, youth, newcomers, Indigenous communities, persons with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups.

• Support the development of cricket infrastructure and long-term hosting opportunities.

• Build a trusted, financially sustainable, and internationally respected national sport organization.

• Leadership Mandate

The CEO will:

• Implement the Board-approved strategic plan and annual operating priorities.

• Lead Cricket Canada’s employees, programs, finances, partnerships, and national operations.

• Provide the Board with timely, accurate, and evidence-based advice and reporting.

• Maintain a clear distinction between Board governance and management responsibilities.

• Promote ethical conduct, transparency, procedural fairness, and responsible decision-making.

• Oversee compliance with applicable legislation, Cricket Canada policies, funding agreements, ICC requirements, and recognized Canadian sport-governance standards.

• Champion an athlete-centered culture and meaningful athlete involvement in decisions affecting athletes.

• Lead Cricket Canada’s commitment to Safe Sport, including applicable requirements under the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport and the Canadian Safe Sport Program.

• Promote equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, bilingual capacity, and respect throughout the organization.

• Strengthen financial controls, risk management, organizational capacity, and long-term revenue sustainability.

• Represent Cricket Canada nationally and internationally with professionalism, credibility, and integrity.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will bring:

• Significant senior executive leadership experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder organization.

• Demonstrated experience working effectively with a governance-focused Board of Directors.

• Strong capabilities in organizational transformation, strategic planning, financial stewardship, government relations, risk management, and partnership development.

• Experience within the Canadian sport system, a national not-for-profit organization, government, or an international sport environment. Priority to candidates who have full Member country experience

• A record of building inclusive, accountable, and high-performing teams.

• Sound judgment, political acuity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trust across differing perspectives.

• Knowledge of cricket and international sport governance, which would be considered an asset.

• Proficiency in both official languages, which would be considered a strong asset.

• A university degree in business, sport management, public administration, law, commerce, or a related discipline is preferred. A relevant graduate degree would be considered an asset. Equivalent combinations of education and executive experience will also be considered.

Conditions of Employment

The successful candidate must:

• Be legally entitled to work in Canada.

• Complete an appropriate criminal record check and enhanced background screening.

• Complete required Safe Sport education and consent to the applicable conduct and integrity framework.

• Comply with Cricket Canada’s Code of Conduct, confidentiality, conflict-of-interest, safeguarding, and workplace policies.

• Be available for regular travel within Canada and internationally.
