CC SQUAD UNDERGOES INTENSE TRAINING ON DAY TWO OF SRI LANKA TOUR

CC Senior Men’s squad is undergoing vigorous training sessions each day in Sri Lanka. The squad is putting in its best efforts and had an intense center wickets practice at Panadura Sports Club ground. The video analysis were done for most of the boys followed by match simulation training. These intense training sessions are then wrapped up by cool downs in the pool and mental strengthening sessions.

Other than the physical training aspect, coaches are also ensuring that the squad is mentally fit and strong. With the countdown approaching soon to compete at the Div 2 qualifiers in Namibia, Captain Davy Jacobs and coach Henry are assisting each session with careful analysis. The presence of expert sports psychologist Dr. Neeta, the tour is indeed focused on skills strengthening. The expert team of Indian Institute of sport is also working hard with the captain and the team to understand the team dynamics as identifying that and understanding positive and negative outcomes that can occur is a stepping stone to knowing how to predict and build team performance.

The squad played a practice 50 over match against Srilankan Army Ordinance team where Canada won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 296 runs for the loss of 7 wickets and then defending it with a big margin of 100 runs.
