The PEI Cricket Association will host this year's Eastern T20 starting July 19 - 21.  The tournament features last year's champions Quebec, Cricket Newfoundland & Labrador, Cricket New Brunswick,  Nova Scotia Cricket Association and the hosts, PEI.  The top two teams in the round robin games will  play the final on July 21 (Sunday).

Cricket fans across the world had their eyes on Lord's for a thrilling World Cup final, but those in Canada were also  looking towards King City, where the Canadian Under 19 team beat the USA by 5 wickets, thereby qualifying for the Under 19 World Cup to be held in South Africa from 17 January to 9 February 2020. Both teams had cruised through the tournament so far, with one sided wins over Bermuda, Caymans and Argentina. USA batted first, and a fine bowling performance from Canada dismissed the US for just 112 in 32.4 overs. All five of those who bowled took wickets. Canada lost five wickets, but passed their total with 38 overs to spare.

Canada continues its quest to qualify for the U19 World Cup with a big win over the Cayman Islands today. Canada are 3 and 0 following one sided wins over Bermuda and Argentina. Canada had Thursday off, as the USA beat Argentina for their third win of the tournament, and the Cayman Islands lost to Bermuda. A win today for Canada has set up a match with the USA on Sunday to decide the tournament winners.

Canada batted first for the first time in the tournament and took full advantage of some loose Caymans bowling, posting a massive 441/5  total. Two Canadians made centuries (pictured above), Eshan Sensarma with 105, and Ashton Deosammy with 155 from just 104 balls. The Caymans managed just 50 in reply, no batsman making double figures and Deosammy capped a memorable day by taking 3 wickets for 2 runs to secure a 391 run win.

The Canadian U19s recorded their second big win of the ICC U19 World Cup Americas Qualifer, defeating Argentina by 7 wickets today at King City. 

Argentina were bowled out for just 33, with eight batsmen dismissed for ducks. Raqib Shamsudeen led the bowlers with outstanding figures of 5 overs, 3 maidens, 3 runs and five wickets, including 4 wickets in 6 balls, all bowled. In reply Canada lost three wickets but needed just 4 overs to record the victory. Raqib was named man of the match. 





Canada have got their U19 qualifying campaign underway with a one sided victory over Bermuda, all over in just 34 overs. Bermuda won the toss and and batted but made just 61 in 26.4 overs. Some lively left arm swing bowling from Rishiv Joshi (2/8) made the early breakthrough, and this was followed up by Muhammad Kamal (3/9),  Gurjot Gosal (2/9) and Raqib Shamsudeen (2/0). Canada sped to victory in just 8 overs, losing only one wicket in the process. Muhammed Kamal was named man of the match.

In today's other game USA bowled out the Caymans for 29, and won by 10 wickets.
